APENO Supports GWTO Talks

Luís Araújo (President of Tourism of Portugal) and Remo Monzeglio, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Uruguay talk about Wine Tourism on May 5, at GWTO Talks

The Global Wine Tourism Organisation (GWTO) / World Wine Tourism Organization (OMET), of which APENO is a part, has launched omet's GWTO Talks / Tertúlias a series of webinars designed to connect the most relevant members of the food tourism and wine industry around the world. The next platform event scheduled for next week brings Europe and South America to the table.

Following the launch of GWTO last November, the organization created an open platform to support its industry. This was the obvious step for the international network of knowledge and entrepreneurship, which aims to contribute to the socio-economic development of the destinations of oenotourism.

Under its inclusive, supportive and sustainable governance structure (aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals), GWTO will use these meetings to increase collaboration among its members, encouraging them to compete through co-optivity: sharing knowledge, common challenges and solutions to help all parties thrive, both locally and globally.

Bringing together entities from different parts of the globe, GWTOtalks have begun talks on topics of common interest with experts from public bodies, academic institutions and companies around the world, while promoting their products, services and training programs. The first webinar, held last December, was attended by The Minister of Tourism and Sport of Argentina, Matías Lammens, and the Director General of Tourism Policy of Greece, Panagiota Dionysopoulou, as invited speakers.

The next edition of these talks, entitled 'Connecting Governments: Uruguay & Portugal', will take place on Wednesday, May 5, at 16:00 CET, with the presence of speakers Luís Araújo, President of Tourism of Portugal; and Remo Monzeglio, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Uruguay. The session will be spoken in Spanish.

All interested parties, directly and indirectly, linked to the industry of Wine and Gastronomic Tourism, can join by prior registration on the platform through the following link:
