Lavradores de Feitoria recently launched Vinha do Sobreiro, a red from 2016, with great aging capacity. This first edition has 6 years of internship, between cellar and basement.
The new Vinha do Sobreiro arrives to reinforce the terroir wines range, which also includes the White Meruge wines of 2020, and the reds Meruge 2019 and Quinta da Costa das Aguaneiras 2018, now launched with a new image. In addition to the label, Quinta da Costa das Aguaneiras also changed the bottle and started using the burgundy model.
The Vinha do Sobreiro 2016 red - originates in Quinta de Pias, in Celeirós, in the Pinhão valley, sub-region of Cima Corgo. The grapes come from a vineyard where, as its name implies, there is a wetlet. The vines are between 30 and 40 years old and are planted at about 400 meters of altitude, with north exposure, which contributes to the freshness of the wine. Winemaking is carried out in a lagar and stage in new French oak barrels for 12 months. A red prepared with Touriga Franca, Red Cão and Tinta Roriz, with aroma of ripe red fruit and floral notes, and structured palate, fresh, elegant and prolonged finish.

With 20 farms dispersed by the best terroirs of the three douro sub-regions (Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior), Lavradores de Feitoria produces wines through a business model that strongly bets on a logic of social, economic and environmental sustainability. Founded in September 2000, under a joint leadership in management and a unique oenology team, Lavradores de Feitoria resulted from the union of 15 'farmers', owners of 18 farms. For the first time in the region, a group of duriense staunch associate knowledge and experiences, innovation and tradition, in a joint and supportive effort that marked a new era for the Douro. They came together to share resources and create synergies to achieve what they alone would not be able to achieve. After almost 20 years, Lavradores de Feitoria is composed of 53 shareholders, 16 of whom own 19 farms, which is added to Quinta do Medronheiro, purchased with the company's capital. It is precisely in this Farm, located in Sabrosa, that the new winery of these 'farmers' was born.
CEO Olga Martins and Oenology Director Paulo Ruão, also shareholders, are the most visible faces of a team of 16 people who work daily so that Lavradores de Feitoria remains a wine project that prides the Douro. In total, the producer has at his disposal grapes from more than 600 hectares of vineyards.The wine portfolio consists of brands such as 'Lavradores de Feitoria' (white, rosé and red), 'Três Bagos' (Sauvignon Blanc white, Reserva branco, Reserva red, Grande Escolha red and Grande Escolha Estágio Prolongado redinto), Meruge (white and red), Quinta da Costa das Aguaneiras (red) and the new Vinha do Sobreiro (red). It also has wines of celebration, such as the 'Lavradores de Feitoria 18 and special projects and brands for specific markets.
