Summary of memories

Casa Relvas was in Lisbon, in the refurbished Restaurant Via Graça, in Lisbon, to present a special wine, the result of 15 harvests.

For more than 20 years producing wines in alentejo, producer Alexandre Relvas has been presenting several special harvests in the market, along with a portfolio already quite diversified. This time, he decided to mark the 15th anniversary of herdade de São Miguel – one of its properties – through a limited edition red produced from 15 harvests, in honor of his team, customers and the unique terroir in alentejo.

Thus is born the wine 'Abstract of 15 vintages', counted from 2003 to 2017, with years of rain and lots of heat, fresh springs and dry summers. Amazing years and other more challenging. With a limited edition of only 1000 bottles, Casa Relvas dedicates this wine to all those who over time participated in the production of these wines, and especially to its team that, with great delivery and passion, has helped to realize this wine project in recent years. "It is a reliving of dreams, challenges, and the effort and dedication of everyone in the vineyard, in the winery and in the distribution, which culminates today in this tribute not only to people, but also to the unique terroir of alentejo", says Alexandre Relvas, son of the producer of the same name, the current face of the project (pictured). "Casa Relvas is a generational project, with solidity and stability in the national market, representing Portugal, with quality, out there", he shoots.

Elaborated with the varieties Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira, Aragonez, among others, it is a red of seductive aroma, already with tertiary to reveal itself in the aroma, without however failing to reveal good wild fruit, balsamic notes and notes wood where it aged. On the palate it is structured, complex, fresh and elegant, with excellent acidity and long finish of mouth. The bottles (numbered) will mostly be offered to the company's staff, but you will also be able to find the rest in selected wine cellars (with a P.V.P. between 50 and 60€) and reference restaurants.

During the launch lunch, Alexandre Relvas also had the opportunity to show some more limited edition wines already launched by Casa Relvas, such as the Herdade de São Miguel Esquecido branco 2017 (a top wine 100% Arinto estagiado in French oak, which was 'forgotten' in barrels); and the Herdade de São Miguel Friends Collection red 2015 (a wine prepared by oenophile friends of the producer who come together every year to prepare a batch of wine with the best barrels), and also the Herdade de São Miguel Pé de Mãe 2017 (name given to vines selected for vegetative reproduction, for the quality of their fruit but also for their good adaptation to a certain terroir and for its resistance to wood diseases). Special wines that also stood out at lunch and that, being different from each other, maintains in common complexity, freshness and great aging potential.
